Kenai Peninsula

A week later we left the cruise at Wittier, Alaska.  We had to take a bus to go into the Kenai Peninsula at Copper Landing.  What beautiful country!  One tour guide was Mr. Bill and along the way we met a local resident, Nick Lean, who has lived there all his life.  He has a cabin with NO electricity or plumbing, but is in a most gorgeous area.  Behind his cabin was a guest house with all of the amenities.  His family stays there when they visit.  During this evening, we saw bald eagles, a moose, baby salmon and even two bear cubs up a tree.  What an experience!!!  We also stopped to look at the local museum and school.
